But that Tom Cruise did a good job with MI:3. Couch jumping, Brooke Shields advice givin', alien worshipin' Tom Cruise did a respectable effort with this movie. Its no "Ice Pirates" but for Saturday $2.99 rental...meh...you could do worse. I'm sure he can thank J.J. Abrams for decent direction. I especially liked Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the bad guy. He's pudgy, he's got acting chops and he's buyable as a badass. Stepped out of the atypical movie villain. He plays what a truly bad person is...he doesn't monologue about his grand plan and you wrong him and he's going to go out of his way to fuck with you every chance he can. Cruise does what he does best...He runs a lot. Big sweeping arm running. On film it looks cool however, if it was gym class it would be called "spazzy". And then there are the stunts. Swinging, jumping, sprawling...more "cool yet spazzy" running. I wonder if in spy school they give lessons in pain management. He pile drives into the side of a building and barely exhales. I fell down six stairs last summer I spent 20 minutes on the floor going "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow...ow, ow, ow". But then thats why we go to the movies.
