We can work it out

In a lifetime of doing things I said I would never do/become. I joined a gym back in December. Some health reasons mostly because I did not want to get to the point where they are cutting out a wall of my house so Richard Simmons can hug me. I have been going with some regularity for the past few months. I started like a monster sometimes twice a day but now I’ve settled into 3-5 times a week, which seems fairly respectable. I bike…I lift. Although I STILL hold the opinion that lifting weights is one of the dumbest activities known to man. If there was a dodge ball, mat ball or soccer some kind high effort game in my area I’d be on it in a second. But lifting...since high school football I thought it was boring. Just sitting there hour after hour…blah, blah, blah. I think they had an initiative for players. If you came in for summer lifting you’d be looked upon favorably for a starting position. Quick sidebar about high school football for me. I was a starter and I was horrible. Between lifting and riding the bench I’d rather have ridden the bench. So anyway…”The Gym”. Another thing I was pondering the other day. How come there are average guys there they get done biking and they look great. They look better then when they got on the bike. I get off and I look like some kind of mutant.. I don’t even have that cool “all over shirt” sweat. I have tiny reservoirs of sweat that announce to the world “Hey look at my boobs sweat!” The glisten and gleam and I rain like the Amazon basin. But in the end its all worth it since I joined 7 months ago I have lost…5 whole pounds. I’d like to be healthy but I like eating more.
