Here's a entry about my car that had a few shimmers then grew intolerably long before I pulled the chute.
The Wheels on my Car go round and round...sometimes
Let me give you a little background on me and the cars in my life. Thankfully, my parents taught me how to drive on a stick shift this has enabled me to perform as driver in several employment oppotunities vs having to the grunt work. Most notably at UW-Whitewater when I worked for the campus maintenance crew. While everyone was schleping furniture up floors. I got to transport furniture and people across the wide campus. the Only sweat I felt was when I lifted my butt off the truck seat at then end of the day. Near my graduation of college my parents informed me of the remaining inheritence my grandma had left me and I should use it to buy a car. Which was nice considering until that point I was being hauled around campus by either roommate to girlfriend. I shopped a few local places and found what I could afford on my meager funding and insurance. a 1987 Toyota Corrolla SR5...hey it was red and had a moon roof. So it wasn't a total loser car. For the milage I put on it and the pains it inflicted it stood up pretty well...
-several trips to Green Bay to see my girl friend, -a few late night four "wheelin' " excursions through my friend Matts back yard, -a LONG drive to party in Quad Cities..."Never had I thought that Milwaukee was cosmopolitan".. -And an incident with "black ice"...that sent me carreening 50 yards down an on ramp over 60 mph in the middle of the night in January...backwards. That I not only walked away from but drove away from with no noticible damage. -It was totally stolen & stripped...which is a story in itself
