Citizen Rad On Patrol!

Last week, as I was letting my dog out I noticed some ruffians. Teenage toughs. I squinted at them through the protection of 2 doors with a menacing eye. The same look Batman has when he sees the Bat Signal. They looked a little disheveled and the type of ilk whose definition of "using the dictionary" is to stop the couch from wobbling. As they passed by I noticed the "moll" of the group take a long, lingering look into the window of my car. She was giving it "the once over"...i.e. "casing it". Now some of you are saying..."Hey Old man (why must you call me "old man") she was just doing her thing...looking in your car as she walked by...No need to let your freak flag fly!" I may have agreed with you. But what I saw can only be described as "casing" my car. Then I watched her do the same to my neighbors car. Damn Kids! I of course watched this all from the safety of my house where I could lock the door quickly and hide in my office while I dialed 911. My crappy Saturn (but reliable for over 5 years) has endured a slew of punishment parked in from of my house. Its been egged 3 times (I still don't get the thrill in that.) It was assaulted with a fire extinguished (not a riot...but playing with a fire extinguisher I can see the fun in that). And it was bombarded by hail when we were in Hawaii...nothing like coming back to that to take the shine off a nice vacation. I didn't get to the place in my life to have some thug victimize my...while I'm watching! Oh thank god...they went away.

Now about the paperboy who stole my Christmas lights....
